How we handle your information.

Who we are

Casita Restitution Coalition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use this website, submit an application, take our assessment, or make a donation.

What we collect

Quiz responses: answers you provide, and the contact information you share on the final step.

Applications: contact details, property information, details of your situation, financial status information, and any documents you upload.

Donations: name, email, billing address, phone (if provided), employer (if provided), payment method details (processed and stored by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number).

Automatic: standard server logs (IP, user agent, pages visited) and basic analytics.

How we use it

We use your information solely to provide the services you've requested: reviewing your application, following up, coordinating professional referrals, issuing tax receipts, and sending organizational updates if you opt in.

We do not sell your information. Ever. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who sees it

Application details are visible only to authorized members of our team who are working on your case. When we refer you to an attorney, contractor, or financial counselor, we share only the information necessary for that introduction, and only with your consent.

Donor information (name, amount, date) is visible only to authorized staff. Donations you mark as anonymous are excluded from any public donor lists.

Service providers we use

  • Supabase (database and file storage)
  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Resend (transactional email)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and security practices. We share only the data necessary for each to perform its function.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your records (subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations, particularly for donation records which we are required to retain). Email info@casitarestitution.org to make a request.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to have it deleted (subject to legal exceptions).

Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and restrict access to the minimum set of staff who need it to perform their jobs. No online service is ever 100% secure; we will notify affected individuals in the event of a data breach as required by applicable law.
